HeartFire Board of Directors

Maria WANG

Co-founder & Chairwoman

Maria founded HeartFire in 2009. After organizing multiple service trips, she decided to make HeartFire an NGO and accordingly set up the Board as well as Organizing Committee. She grew up in Dongkeng Town, Jingbian County in Shaanxi Province, China. She graduated with first honor in International Shipping and Logistics in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and got her MBA from INSEAD. She now works in Kraft Heinz, the global fifth largest food & beverage company, as General Manager of Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan region and Mainland China Import and Export business.

Yu CAO

Co-founder & Vice Chairman

Yu is very passionate about entrepreneurship and social impact. He co-founded HeartFire and is now an MBA candidate in INSEAD. He worked in a philanthropic venture capital incubating social enterprises, ran a startup in Shenzhen, and managed a foundation supporting Hong Kong young entrepreneurs. He likes travelling and hiking. He finished a 100km hiking in 24 hours.

Nancy WU

Board Member

Nancy joined Heartfire’s very first trip in 2009 and was previously part of the executive committee. She graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a major in International Shipping and Transport Logistics and got her master degree from the University of Hong Kong. She now works at Zim, a leadng global carrier as the Financial Controller of its Transpacifc Business Unit.

Yoshi YUE

General Secretary

Yoshi got her bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She participated multiple HeartFire service trips as team members and leaders, and was part of the Student Committee. She loves doing fitness and learning Korean.

Kaye LAU

Marketing Director

Kaye joined HeartFire in 2013 and participated in multiple service trips. After graduating from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University majoring in Bilingual Studies, Kaye has been working in the marketing field, specialising in event management. With a educational background in languages, Kaye is able to utilise her expertise, creating communication platforms to build up a strong and positive awareness addressing both internal and external perceptions. With a keen interest for voluntary teaching, she spends her holidays in different provinces in China.

Barbara Lu

Public Relations Director

Barbara LU joined HeartFire in 2015. She served as HeartFire trip leaders and members in multiple trips before becoming the President of HeartFire Student Committee. She graduated from Global Supply Chain Management in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and embark on the master degree in Global Operations in HKUST.Her hobbies are singing performances and basketball.

Fiona XIA

Public Relations Director

Fiona Xia is currently working with Paul Hastings LLP as a legal manger. She mainly engages in Hong Kong capital market field, including IPO, secondary offering and post-IPO compliance work. Fiona graduated with dual bachelor degree of Law and Economics from the China University of Political Science and Law and Master of Laws from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Cong GUO

Strategy & Operations Director

Cong joined HeartFire in 2014 and participated in multiple service trips as members as well as trip leaders. She was also part of HeartFire Student Committee. She graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and now works in EY Consulting. She loves jogging, yoga and music. Her favorite part of the HeartFire experience is sharing thoughts and empowering each other.

Leo LIU

Talent & Development Director

Leo joined HeartFire in 2016 and has been a trip member, donor as well as a internal trainer. Leo is now a Branch Manager at Prudential Hong Kong and spends his spare time in Dedao app, gym and movies. He is a big fan of hotpot.

Bobby CUI

Marketing Manager

Bobby joined HeartFire in 2013 and is also the designer of the HeartFire logo. He got his Dual Bachelor Degree in Biochemistry from SYSU and PolyU and Master Degree in Nutrition from CUHK. He is the founder of SSXZ Consulting Co. Ltd. and an active blogger in Zhihu and WeChat. He is also an ACI holder. Currently he is an AIA Wealth Management Unit Manager.
